A bowl in yellow glaze (iron-yellow), made for the Qing imperial court during the Yongzheng reign.
Monochrome yellow glaze is a low-temperature iron-yellow ware reserved for the imperial family; under the Qing it marks some of the most restrained and perfectly balanced objects in the palace.
Made under the Yongzheng emperor, whose reign is remembered for the most delicate and quietly coloured porcelain of the dynasty. It is held in The Palace Museum, Beijing, and the image is reproduced here with the museum’s credit.
